How to calculate discount

An easy way to calculate the price after discount:

• Original price then multiply it with the discount (divided by 100).
• The subtract the result from the original price.

For example:

20 dollars with a discount of 20% = 16 dollars.

• 20 * 0.2 (20/100) = 4
• 20 – 4 = 16

There are several ways to calculate a discount on a price. One way to calculate discount is to use the following formula:

Discount = Original Price x (Discount Percentage / 100)

Where “Original Price” is the price before any discounts, and “Discount Percentage” is the percentage of the original price that is being discounted. For example, if the original price of an item is \$100 and the discount is 10%, the discount would be \$10 (100 x (10/100) = 10).

Another way to calculate discount is to use the following formula:

Discounted Price = Original Price – (Original Price x (Discount Percentage / 100))

Where “Discounted Price” is the final price after the discount has been applied, “Original Price” is the price before any discounts, and “Discount Percentage” is the percentage of the original price that is being discounted. For example, if the original price of an item is \$100 and the discount is 10%, the discounted price would be \$90 (100 – (100 x (10/100) = 90).

It’s also possible to express the discount as a fixed amount, instead of a percentage, in this case it would be:

Discounted Price = Original Price – Discount Amount

There are different ways of calculating discounts, but the important thing is to be consistent and use the same method across all products and services, so that the customers can compare the prices easily.
